Painting in Oils | Plein Air Oil Painting

PAINTING IN OILS (Eight weeks, Wednesday evenings)

Each quarter of the calendar year I teach this popular studioworkshop, always with fresh material and new projects. This is for beginning to advanced artists. You will learn to paint beautiful pictures the easy way as I show you everything you need to know including the best way to start a painting, the 5 critical secrets of color-mixing and brushwork, how to compose powerful paintings and much more! We will be painting ALL-NEW PROJECTS, so even those who have painted with me before will enjoy fresh and exciting new ways to take their painting skills to new levels! PLEIN AIR OIL PAINTING (Five consecutive Saturday mornings, outdoors on location)

Each quarter of the calendar year I teach this popular outdoor workshop, always with fresh material and new projects. This course is for beginning to advanced artists. See why outdoor painting is so FUN and EASY, even for first-time artists. The first class is held indoors where you'll watch an exciting painting demonstration of how I work when I am on location. As always, I plan to give away my demonstration painting FREE that day; it might become yours! You'll learn about inexpensive materials to use, discuss the scenes you'll paint, and much more. Other classes meet at breathtaking locations where I will guide you in creating your own painting of each scene.

"OPEN" PLEIN AIR WORKSHOPS (Saturday mornings, outdoors on location)

Most Saturday mornings when the above series of workshops are not in session I hold individual Plein Air classes outdoors on location, which are open to anyone. No reservations are required. Artists pay upon arrival at the day's painting site to join in the class for that day. We usually meet at a different location each Saturday morning from 9am to noon.
